The church was built, with the blessing of Bishop Joanikij Mićović, by a large number of benefactors, builders and believers from Velika and other regions. The church was built next to the cemetery from 1912, where these brave and honorable fighters were buried, to whom monuments were erected between the First and Second World Wars.
