Hrid lake is a reserve of the Prokletije National Park. This "mountain eye" is located 18 km from Plav, at 1970 m above sea level, between Veliki and Mali Hrid. Its maximum depth is about 5 m.
The nature reserve "Hrid lake" consists of mixed stands of endemic pines of munika and molica, and the lake itself is home to as many as 245 species of algae, 78 of which were registered for the first time in Montenegro. More interesting inhabitants of the lake belong to the class of amphibians, among which the mountain marmot stands out.
Several legends are associated with the lake, the most famous of which is that fairies bathe in it, and for many visitors, this is the most beautiful lake in Montenegro, and for some even beyond.
