One of the most famous paraglider drivers in the region, Zoran Petrović-Gugi from Kraljevo (Serbia), stayed several times with his team in Plav. A paraglider driving from Kofiljača and Visitor said that flights over the city and the lake are something special, and that Plav has all the conditions to become a center for the development of this adventure sport.
As he said then, it is a special experience when you take off from the Visitor and fly over the lake. From that perspective, you watch bathers on a raft, or fishermen in wooden boats, watching and greeting them.
On the other side, when you fly from Kofiljača, you fly over the center of Plav, over the bazaar with small, narrow alleys from which children look up at the sky, calling out to the flyers and waving to them. Then they run after them through Šabović and Redžepagić mahala, then down Ribarska Street, all the way to the lake, because they know that the flyers will land somewhere on the shore.
It will be an opportunity for them to help the fliers fold their wings and pack their equipment, and of course to try on the helmet and take photos with the fliers, and then tell home and friends how they got along with the paragliders. In that ecstasy, some of them will, perhaps, tell that they flew with a paraglider...and then others will eagerly wait for the paragliders to soar into the sky again so that they too can hang out with them.
The most important thing of all, Zoran said then, is that while you are flying you can always be sure that somewhere down on the ground, friends are waiting for you.
We always look forward to that the most. Because we know that in case something should happen, there is always someone who follows us and is waiting, and who is ready to come to our aid at any moment, said Gugi. Unfortunately, there is no paragliding club in Plav.
