RAFTING & KAYAKING

For two decades now, the Lim regatta has started from Plavo, from the source of Lim. This three-day manifestation, at the end of May, has for years marked the beginning of the summer tourist season for the cities it passes through.

The regatta has a cross-border character, because it passes through Montenegro and Serbia, through five cities: Plav, Andrijevica, Berane, Bijelo Polje and Prijepolje. Outsmarting the mysterious moods of the sometimes calm, but always unpredictable Lima takes about 20 hours, and a total of about 134 kilometers are covered. Tourist organizations of the cities through which the Lim flows are planning to expand this event by including other cities (Priboj, Rudo, Višegrad/Međeđa), and in this way connect Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Rafting in Lima requires complete rafting equipment that is used on fast waters with the mandatory presence of professionals/skippers, who will manage the rubber boat/crew.

Driving in Lima is a real adventure challenge for all those who crave adrenaline. Apart from sections that require a high degree of professionalism and caution, on certain quieter sections of Lima you can enjoy a leisurely drive through beautiful areas ideal for photography, rest and relaxation.

For those who want a quieter rowing in kayaks (one-seater or two-seater), then Ljuča is the ideal destination for them. A river that, with its meanders, reminds of real plains rivers, thus slowing down its course, so that you have to row in the larger flow. The curiosity is that the river is significantly longer than the road between Plav and Gusinje, between which it stretches. Namely, its length due to meandering is about 16 km, and the main road between these two places is about 11 km.
Apart from rafting down Ljuča and Lim, for those who want to enjoy riding on calm water, while still being able to swim and sunbathe, Plavsko jezero is the right place for them to ride kayaks or pedal boats.
