From the shore of Lake Plav, from Šarkinović Latko to Ravni Krš katun (1639m above sea level), since 2018, every third weekend in July, a memorial hiking trip "Roads of Redž Šarkinović" has been organized.
The trail, about 8 km long, is actually a winding road that connects Latek Šarkinović, passing through numerous estates of the Knežević, Brković, Dašić families, across the Redžova meadow, to the old katun where the Šarkinović family once lived. This time, over the course of several years, he gradually built and financed Redžo Šarkinović with his friends, which was his wish, and which he managed to realize in the old days.
Last year's memorial hike, organized on July 15, 2023 by NVU "Count on us", was attended by 67 mountaineers from Plav, Gusinje, Andrijevica, Podgorica, Beran, Bjelo Polje, as well as nature lovers from other countries, Germany, the Czech Republic, Polish etc. Remembering Redž as an "eternal partisan" and custodian of NOR's heritage, some of the participants wore partisan caps, and a special emotion was caused by the flag of the former Yugoslavia, a tricolor with a five-pointed star, which flew on Ravni Krs. Upon their return, the participants of the expedition socialized, had lunch and had a drink in the "AQUA" restaurant.
The organizer, NGO "Count on us", whose founders are the descendants of Redžo Šarkinović, plans to organize the 6th memorial hiking trip on July 21, 2024. in cooperation with the Plav Tourist Organization and the "Prokletije" National Park, which will raise the hitherto family event to a much higher level.
