VISITOR'S LAKE

The Visitor lake at 1820 meters stands out for its beauty, with a grassy floating island - a shoal in the middle, which in the past served shepherds as a natural shelter for cattle from mountain animals.

Visitor Lake is located on Visitor Mountain, after which it got its name.

It lies on the north-eastern side of the mountain, at an altitude of 1735m. It is 2 km as the crow flies from the highest peak of Plana, which rises high above Lake Plav.

Visitor Lake is of glacial origin. It was created by the accumulation of water in the lowest cirque of Visitor. It belongs to the group of smallest mountain lakes known as "Mountain eyes". Its greatest length is 91m and its greatest width is 72m. The coastal line is finely divided and is constantly shifting depending on the lake water level.

During the summer, the temperature of the lake water reaches 16-18°C and is suitable for swimming. During the winter months, the lake freezes over.
